‘The Queen of Nöri’ at Palikū Theatre, O’ahu

The show is a feature-length original story ballet that follows a Queen who turns to dark magic to save her kingdom from war with neighboring powers.

Taking after blockbuster fantasy like ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ The Queen of Nöri uses contemporary ballet to explore magic parenthood and leadership under pressure.

The Queen of Nöri is presented in collaboration Kailua Dance Academy and the cast features local dance students, local professional dancers, and guest stars Ashley Carter and Vanessa Martínez de Baños of DoubleTake Dance in NYC.

Meet the director Holly STONE

Holly Stone is the founder Artistic Director of StoneWorks Productions and holds an MFA in Dance from Florida State University.

StoneWorks is a Boston-based production company focused on creating narrative dance work for stage and screen. StoneWorks is committed to finding new ways to bring magic to life through dance.

Kailua Dance Academy

Dedicated to achieving excellence through dance, Kailua Dance Academy keeps our program current and our dancers connected to the greater performing arts world by working regularly with guest teachers and artists.
