JACOB HOOVER
PERFORMER
Jacob grew up in the Boston area, and trained at Walnut Hill, Boston Dance Company, and Miami City Ballet School. He was a dancer with José Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA, the Vanemuine Theatre in Tartu, Estonia, and most recently with Festival Ballet Providence, RI. He has also performed with North Atlantic Dance Theatre, and City Ballet of Boston, and Robinson Ballet in Maine.
In addition to dance, Jacob is fascinated by mathematics and language, and is currently pursuing a PhD at McGill University in Montreal, in computational linguistics. While trying to balance studying and manage to keep dancing, he also looks for moments to play the fiddle when he has the time. Jacob is excited to participate in the Queen of Nori project. It is gratifying that, along with difficulties, this year has brought such new collaborations and unexpected opportunities.
